Aurore Piette’s practice draws a neo vision of making by transgressing our current way of fabrication and the traditional craft techniques. Inspired by the natural elements and craftsmanship, the craftswoman of the sea, Aurore Piette, offers to redefine the notions of making and craft by establishing neo rituals where nature as a manufacturer replaces the manufactured nature.
Currently, awareness is rising for better consumption through a more transparent system. In this way, as a designer first, but also as a consumer, Aurore Piette felt the necessity to challenge the current way of production and consumption by understanding and transgressing the path which a product goes through and to question: from what, from whom and how an item has been made? Here the nature becomes a metaphor of the maker, offering another dimension to the notions of origins and making.
Thus, self-proclaiming her practices through contemporary craft, passive - vegan design and wabi-sabi philosophy, the craftswoman of the sea aims to share a passive – respectful – transparent vision of what fabrication could be in a post-industrial area.

Aurore Piette proposes a sustainable vision of design by valuing discarded maritime sediments. Aurore Piette Studio defines here an interior design that is exclusively developed from that characteristic material. Through several techniques, it leads to diverse and complementary applications.

La pratique de Aurore Piette Studio dessine une vision de « faire » en transgressant les moyens actuels de production et les techniques traditionnelles de l’artisanat. Inspirée par les éléments naturels, l’artisane de la mer, Aurore Piette, offre de redéfinir les notions de fabrication en établissant des neo rituels où la nature incarne l’artisan.
Actuellement, les consciences s’élèvent pour une meilleure consommation avec des systèmes de production transparents. Ainsi, en tant que design, mais également en tant que consommatrice, Aurore Piette ressent la nécessité de challenger les moyens actuels de fabrication et de consommation en comprenant et transgressant le parcours suivi par un produit, questionnant donc : à partir de quoi ? par qui et comment un produit est-il créé ? Ici la nature devient la métaphore du fabricant, offrant une nouvelle dimension aux notions d’origine et de fabrication.
Ainsi, autoproclamant sa pratique au travers de l’artisanat contemporain, du design passif et vegan, de la philosophie wabi-sabi, l’artisane de la mer souhaite partager une vision respectueuse et transparente de ce que pourrait être la production dans une ère post-industrielle.
Aurore Piette propose une vision eco-responsable du design en revalorisant des sédiments maritimes aujourd'hui rejetés. Aurore Piette Studio dessine donc un design d'intérieur développé à partir d'un même matériau, dont la déclinaison offre différentes applications complémentaires.
Engagée et actrice du changement, l'artisane de la mer démontre ici qu'une autre vision de la production est possible.
